Book Endorsement

“As with any good book, Ja'Nee became a real person with real feelings to me. The important thing is that the pages of “I’m Tired and I’m Wearing Yesterday’s Mascara” pulled a variety of feelings from me.”

The pages took me from sadness for a young girl that tried to fit in and be accepted to somewhat shock at a young woman who explored her sexuality freely and somewhat irresponsibly. I wanted to learn more about this “new friend" that was searching for meaning in a complicated life. My heart went out to the decades spent trying to find happiness, love and a simpler life. After completing the book, I was left with the desire to know if Mr. Right came along, what became of Dee and did Ja'Nee learn to love and accept herself. I closed the book with hopes that Ja'Nee found inner peace.

The manuscript reminded me a bit of "The Bell Jar." In many spots it was dark and somewhat depressing. I kept thinking does this girl smile, laugh and enjoy today's sunshine? I wanted her to succeed both personally and professionally. I wanted her dreams to come true. In closing, I believe that "I'm Tired and I'm Wearing Yesterday's Mascara" is a saleable book for adult audiences.
